In March 2018, the BVI Government meet with Dennis Ramdahin, Founder and Chief Scientist of New York based NGO, Vihara Foundation and Joel de Ross, Founder and Chief Innovation Officer at Australian based tech startup, Metavents.

The purpose was to evaluate ways to assist Hurricane recovery efforts and ensure resilience to future catastrophe. The mission concluded with the BVI becoming the first recipient of Rock Against Poverty. A charity event initiative comprising of 50 events in 25 at risk countries to raise a targeted $1 Billion for disaster mitigation, climate change and poverty alleviation.

What makes Rock Against Poverty unique is the use of Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain technology to not only improve the planning and management of disaster risk reduction projects but also create total transparency and accountability of charitable funds raised.

Funds from the Rock Against Poverty initiative will go towards Food Security Master Planning, disaster risk reduction and preparedness.
